Factory License

The Factories Act, formulated in the year 1948, dictates policies and protocols with respect to occupational safety and health in factories and docks in India. It is concerned with hours of labour & sanitation, mealtimes, holidays, wages and the frequency of washing or cleaning up a work-place. In other words, it is meant to provide a conducive environment for an organization to work in along with being compliant which would result in credibility, protection and attaining a competitive edge that sometimes makes all the difference.

Factory inspectors, who are part of the central/state system of the act, hold powers to examine a workplace at any time and declare fines for violation of any of the labour laws and regulations. Also, proceeding without the required permits/licenses puts you and your company at risk for permanent closure, heavy penalties and interests of huge size. Legal operation in India requires licensing/registration of various kinds and with all the frequent amendments made, it becomes almost impossible for a business owner to keep track of things.
